JOB SUMMARY:
The Logistics Service is a generalist role responsible for supporting Mondi operations and sales in North America.  Successfully managing global supply chains isn’t an easy; Mondi Minneapolis’ entire role is about providing an “invisible” level of service excellence to our customers – our goal is that our customers don’t routinely recognize they’re being supplied from overseas at all.
In the Logistics Service role, you’ll help manage the flow of import shipments from Europe and Asia into more than a dozen US distribution centers, as well as the release and shipment of goods around North America.  You will be involved in all modes of transportation, from ocean to air to truck, as well as frequent crossborder shipments into Canada and Mexico working closely with our many warehouse, transport, & import brokerage providers.
As your experience with Mondi US operations expands, your knowledge will become a useful resource for Mondi EU Plants and Sales who need answers to supply challenges presented by our customers.  You may have responsibility for key customers, dealing with their business at all levels from weekly service conferences, regular reporting & management of inventories, to order releases and restocking per their forecasts. 
If you want to earn a US Customs Broker’s license, that would be useful for Mondi as the majority of Mondi’s business in the US is import-related.
We routinely interact with each other, but your daily work will generally be on your own.  This is a job for people who are self-starters, flexible, skilled at managing priorities, and independently able to organize their own responsibilities according to whatever happens to be needed that day.
Experience in these sorts of roles is helpful, but not required. We will teach you everything about your responsibilities. Training will be onsite, in-person for a length of time depending on your initial qualifications. Once you have a basic familiarity with the tasks involved, remote work may be possible.  Depending on whether you end up in a more customer-engaged role, travel might be needed.   
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the flow of import and export documentation and recordkeeping
• Manage US inventories; handle the arrival of replenishment stocks and the outflow of goods
• Arrange the release of inventory from stock and delivery to customers, including trucking as needed.
• Work closely with the team for reasonable sharing of daily responsibilities & workload, but also be cross-trained to cover for sick time or vacations
• Engage closely with transport, warehouse, brokerage, and other vendors intrinsic to our success
• For key accounts, manage supply chain summaries of goods in transit, stock, etc.  In most cases this will also require presenting regular telephone conferences with the customer, sales, and usually production personnel.
• Interface routinely with production teams at our many EU/Asian plants in regards productions, shipments, and other customer-needed information.
