Seeking; Non-profit Board Members!

Do you have a heart to serve your community in a meaningful way with maximum impact? If so,
we are searching for board members!

Laketown Gymnastics is a 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to providing recreational and
competitive gymnastics, parkour and ninja classes to the Waconia community and beyond. The
demographic of the board will consist of equal representation of Recreational Parents, Team
Parents and Community Members to ensure a board that is diverse in its’ composition. This is a
volunteer board. Members donate their time and expertise to support Laketown, its mission
and collective purpose.

Expectations of Individual Board Members:

  • Know Laketown’s mission, policies, programs and needs.
  • Read and understand the organizations financial statements and board materials in advance of meetings.
  • Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings. We require attendance at a minimum of 9 of our 12 meetings. Meetings are monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 6pm to 8:30pm at the gym.
  • Actively participate in fundraisers, events and board/gym initiatives.
  • Maintain the utmost discretion and confidentiality both inside and outside of the boardroom.
In addition to needing mission-aligned individuals with strong collaboration, communication, implementation and strategic skills, we have the following current needs:
  • Community members with no gym affiliation, who are interested in serving on our board!
  • Candidates who have a talent for fundraising
  • Candidates interested in a future board leadership role

Applications close Feb 13th, with interviews scheduling end of February for March, 2026 board meeting attendance.
