CT Technologist

Join an amazing group of fun loving patient centered individuals as part of Lakeview Clinic's imaging team as a CT Technologist! The CT Technologist will perform routine diagnostic CT exams for diagnosis and treatment of disease. Primarily responsible for operation of the CT scanner. May also work in x-ray and satellite clinics as needed to cover open shifts.

Responsibilities
• Perform CT exams such as head, neck, spine, abdomen, chest and CTA’s.
• Produce high quality and accurate diagnostic CT and X-ray images.
• Applies knowledge of “as low as reasonably achievable” (ALARA) pertaining to radiation dosing.
• Follows policies, procedures and systems of the department to meet the mission and goals of the clinic.
• Ensure quality control and quality assurance is performed within the guidelines designated by ACR, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
• Assists with maintenance of equipment to ensure patient safety and proper working order.
• Enter exam information into the radiologists reporting system for the generation and communication of a radiology/radiologists report to the ordering provider via the EMR.
• Perform intravenous access technique as needed.
• Comply with all radiology policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control.
• Demonstrates room and equipment cleanliness between patients.
• Educate and train others in operation of CT equipment, procedures, image quality and exposure techniques.
• Responsible to function as a technologist in all areas of licensure as needed.
• Responsible to assist all modalities as needed.
• Provide additional imaging as determined by patient demand.
• Interacts with patients, providers and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Radiology Supervisor and Director of Clinical Services.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Ability to provide weekend coverage as needed on a limited basis as defined by patient demand.
Competencies:
• Knowledge of radiology policies, procedures, protocols, and quality control guidelines.
• Knowledge of CT, radiology and MRI safety, cleanliness and infection control policies and regulations.
• Knowledge of CT and X-ray equipment uses and maintenance.
• Accuracy- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language verbally and in writing.
• Computer skills- Proficient ability to use a computer, PACS and electronic medical record.
• Confidentiality- Maintain patient, staff and employer confidentiality. Comply will all HIPAA/HITECH regulations.
• Customer Service- Friendly, cheerful and helpful to patient and others.
• Detail Oriented- Ability to pay attention to details of a procedure or task.

Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Radiology
• Meet basic requirements for the ACR accreditation
• Computer knowledge or experience with EMR and PACS.
• Maintain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) qualifications Certification and Licensure:
• Registered by the ARRT
• Advanced Licensure ARRT (CT) or in the process.
• CPR Certified.
