GENERAL SUMMARY
Serves as the Branch President in the Credit Union branch setting.  The primary responsibility is to provide excellent service by demonstrating the principals of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union, and adhering to the vision of “doing the right thing for the right reasons”.  This position must also adhere to the core values of SouthPoint through demonstrating:

The Branch President will be responsible for serving as the credit union’s community relations and business to business development representative in SouthPoint’s key markets by actively identifying, cultivating and conducting outreach to prospective members and employer partners to increase membership growth, product penetration and develop new business relationships for the credit union.  Friendly, professional and personal service toward all SouthPoint Financial Credit Union members is mandatory.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Maintains high visibility and a positive image in the field of membership, with current and prospective members. Builds positive relationships with businesses and community leaders by actively participating in community relations efforts to contribute to the mission and visibility of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union in surrounding communities.
  2. Works with branch staff on initiatives to increase market share in communities served by the credit union.
  3. Attends various meetings in the local and surrounding communities and or trade associations to develop new business prospects and promote the credit union.
  4. Research the demographics of the areas in which the credit union operates, determine the population groups served by the credit union.  
  5. Cultivates new and maintains existing relationships for all facets of corporate sponsorship with individual members, chamber organizations, area employers, auto dealers, RV/boat and motorcycle dealers, realtors, etc.
  6. Identifies, develops and promotes additional business, by negotiating meaningful access to new businesses. Maintains schedule to ensure adequate follow up via site visits, telephone, letters, emails etc.
  7. Develops plans and promotional strategies to meet business development goals; coordinates participation in representing the credit union at various functions, and community related events.
  8. Are responsible for developing and carrying out strategies to achieve branch and corporate goals as determined by the strategic team. Success of the credit union is highly dependent upon the initiatives put in place by the Branch President.
  9. Carries out major assignments of matters of significance in conducting the operations of the business.
  10. Create short-term business strategies to help increase memberships and core products usage.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
  1.  Attend meetings, seminar, conferences and training course related to work.
  2. Abide by all Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities for this job role.
 
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  1. This high contact position requires the ability to communicate effectively with current and prospective members as well as the positive promotion and representation of our Credit Union brand.
  2. Highly organized, self-motivated and self-managed, including setting personal goals.
  3. Excellent analytical and decision making skills, attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
  4. Able to work under pressure, to process multiple tasks concurrently with a high degree of accuracy, and able to interact and maintain a positive attitude under challenging circumstances.
  5. Demonstrated ability to solicit business and enhance member relationships through outbound member contact
 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  1. Requires completion of high school education. 
  2. Requires at least five years of experience in a financial institution operations or accounting position. 
  3. Requires knowledge of management practices and techniques.
  4. Requires knowledge of the Credit Union's policies, procedures, programs, products and services as they relate to branch operations.
  5. Requires knowledge of Credit Union lending procedures, consumer lending practices and credit granting criteria.  
  6. Requires intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving percentages, fractions, decimals, etc.).
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Sitting 50% and standing 50%
  2. Working at a computer 25% of the day
  3. Utilizing the phone 50-60%
  4. Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, or crouching when appropriate, on occasion
  5. Repetitive movements, including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, phones, etc.
  6. Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to approximately twenty-five pounds
 
WORKING CONDITIONS
  1. Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting.
